The Federal Hockey League (FHL) is our Tier II league and is a competitive 40+ league with players of varied backgrounds.  The FHL is designed for older players, recreational players and those newer to the game.   

Age

You must be 40 years of age by the start of the current season.  Underage exceptions are made on a case by case basis.  Those under 40 years of age may register as normal and your application will be considered by the league underage selection committee.  If you are approved you will automatically go into the draft.  If you are not approved you will be notified before the draft with options of playing in the IHL.  Those that applied for IHL and were not selected are automatically placed in the FHL draft regardless of age.  

Season Length

This will be a 12 game season plus playoff schedule.

Cost

The league fee is $295.00 plus proof of 2024-25 USA Hockey Insurance.  You must register online below and be paid in full to be put on the draft board.

All league registration must be online.  

Evaluations

Players new to the league must skate in one of the evaluations.  The evaluation skates are just a pick up game but the FHL league GM's are present and will evaluate each new player and assign a ranking to be used at our draft.  This ensures that we have the correct player profile for each player in the draft. 

• $15.00 per skate. Payable at the door
• All players must present their 2025-26 USA Hockey insurance to be allowed on the ice.
• Goaltenders are scheduled for these skates and must contact Jerry Fronek before attending.

Game Days

For the Summer 2025 season games can be scheduled in any of these slots,  one game per week with an occasional second game possible. 

Primary Game Slots

Monday (10:15pm), Tuesday(10:15pm) Wednesday(9:15pm), Thursday(10:15pm), Friday(10:15pm)

Playoffs

All teams make a single elimination playoff.  The league's Legend Cup Finals series is a best of 3. 

Seasons

The FHL typically runs two seasons per calendar year but can start at three different points depending on the rink schedule.

Summer season -  The Summer season typically starts evaluations in May and runs through late August. 

Fall Season - The Fall season typically starts evaluations in September and runs through December or January.

Winter Season - The Winter season typically starts in January and will run through April.

*Spring Season - The Spring season is typically a shortened 6 game season that runs From March through May.

IHL Summer 2025 REGISTRATION Coming Soon

The IHL is our Premier League and is a competitive 18+ league designed for players with higher level playing backgrounds.  The top players in this league played at the AAA, Junior A or Collegiate level.  The average players in this league played travel club hockey growing up.  There is not a guarantee that you will be drafted in this league. If, through the evaluation process, our GM's feel that you would not be a fit in the IHL level you will be given the option to play in the FHL instead at the earliest possible opening or you will be issued a full refund.  The FHL is designed for older players, recreational players and those newer to the game.  

Age

You must be 18 years of age by the start of the Summer 2025 season.   

Season Length

This will be a 12 game plus playoff schedule.  Draft will be Held in late May. 

Format

Depending on enrollment, this will likely be a 4x4 format.  If we have enough players we will run a 5x5 format but with 10 or 11 man rosters we will revert to 4x4.

Evaluation skates have yet to be scheduled.

Your past playing resume will also be considered during the drafting process. If you are not selected to an IHL franchise, you will automatically be given the option to sign for the FHL draft where you will be given a roster spot as soon as one becomes available or you can request a full refund.  

Game Days

For the Summer 2025 season games will be each Sunday. Weeknights are possible on an as needed basis.

Primary Game Slots
Sundays 8:15pm, 9:45pm

Weekday games will be 9:15pm or 10:15pm but will be extremely rare. (mostly only used for make up games)

Playoffs

All teams make a single elimination playoff.  The league's Heineken Cup Finals are a best of 3 series. 

There are no regular season games played minimum requirements to be eligible for the playoffs.
